They had an Obon Festival this weekend at one of our local parks so Tony and I took Zoe! It was actually a lot more fun then I thought...Cause as a kid/teenager, I really hated going to the Japanese Festivals my parents dragged me to. As an adult I still hesitate at going, but now that we have Zoe, I feel sort of obligated to take her. It's a part of her background and it's important we expose her to those things.
We also met up with a couple of Tony's co-workers, Akiko (who is Japanese if you couldn't tell by her name) and Seth. Being there with friends helped make it fun too!
So here are some pictures of our night out in the gorgeous weather at Alton Baker park!
Zoe was pretty happy and really interested in everything that was going on.
Then just a little way into the festival she passed out..
Like REALLY passed out! She was TIRED! (Earlier that day we had gone shopping!)
These kids were so adorable!
The adults who were awesome..Made my arms hurt watching them!
I love the lanterns! I want some for our back patio! I kinda wish the sun had set a little earlier so we could have seen it all lit up!
Seth and Akiko ventured out to dance..Tony and I watched!
Seth and Akiko!
Our little family!
It was what I would call the best summer evening yet! We had a nice picnic out in the park and just relaxed!
