21 weeks and counting...

I am 21 weeks along (although I'll be 22 weeks on Friday)...It's really FLYING by.  And that makes me a little nervous.  I have yet to buy one outfit for this kiddo.  But next week we'll do our baby registry and I'm sure I'll find something I have to buy.  :)

At my last appointment everything was fine minus another diabetes scare.  At my previous appointment, before this one, they were supposed to test my blood to see if I had diabetes..But apparently they didn't do the right test.  So, they tested my blood sugar and it was fine..A little high but not out of the normal range.  So then they decided to do the test to see if I had a history of diabetes and didn't know it (the test they were supposed to do last time).  And that test came back with a negative..I do not and have not had diabetes.  So no more diabetes testing for me!  Yay!  My numbers came back really well.  My appointments have been in the morning, shortly after breakfast, so I guess my breakfasts have just been a little too sweet???  (I just have cereal in the mornings..)

I gained 5 pounds in about 4 weeks, which put me back at my pre-pregnancy weight.  So far, I'm even on the weight...And considering I'm halfway through, that makes me happy.  But I've noticed my appetite and cravings have really kicked in, so I HAVE TO start being more careful.  Zoe likes to watch me do my prenatal workouts and she even tries to do some of the moves with me..Especially the yoga moves.  It's quite funny.

We have decided on a first name..Noah.  It's a name I've had in my brain from the get go.  Even before I knew (officially knew...) he was a boy.  I believe in feelings and instincts so when the name Noah just appeared in my head, I knew it was the name for him.  And it means 'rest', which makes me hopeful that he won't be quite as 'lively' and crazy as Zoe.  :)

We haven't yet decided on a middle name...Although we feel that since we went Japanese with Zoe we should stick with Japanese for Noah.  There are many wonderful men in my life, both present and past, that I would love to name Noah after.  But I feel it wrong to choose between those men, and it is important to us that the kids have something to represent their Japanese heritage..(Since they don't look it..Hahaha, just kidding.)

I am still pushing for Hiroshi because it means 'generous' and again, I believe in the meaning of names.  I will be sure to keep you posted on the middle name....

My next appointment isn't until the 2nd week of February.  So stay tuned!

Silly Girl!

Zoe never ceases to surprise me.  She's always coming up with the funniest things to say or do.

She has lately been OBSESSED with brushing her teeth...She would brush her teeth 20 times a day..Which is a good thing, hygiene wise.  She doesn't say 'brush' her teeth.  She asks to 'wash' her teeth.  Still cute.

Zoe is getting better about putting actual sentences together.  She says "Go bye in car?".  Or "Bye! See you later!"  She notices when Tony's gone and she'll say "Where daddy go?" or "Daddy go bye bye".  It's fun to hear her say new things.

I've been trying to talk to her about the new baby, but she mostly stares blankly at me.  Which is fine..But we try to call him by name so maybe she'll pick up on it.  Maybe.  :)

Here are the latest pictures:

She loves to put on daddy's hats.

Yogurt is impossible for her to eat without making a huge mess.  And she also thinks it's hand lotion.  Ugh.

She's been having a blast helping daddy in the kitchen.  She even did some stirring!

Tony's in San Diego!

Tony is spending this week in San Diego/Camp Pendleton for work.  He's there with a reporter Beth and they get to experience a little bit of what recruits go through at boot camp.  (Which is cool since my brother spent some time at Camp Pendleton when he was in the Marines..)

If you'd like to follow what he's up to, you can check it out on KVAL'S blog here. Once they get home and aren't working 12-15 hour days, they'll be putting everything together in video format as well.

I know, I know I have some updating to do including ultrasound results!  We didn't get a good look at the face, because baby wouldn't turn around, which also means we didn't get a lot of good measurements.  So, I'll have to go back in about a month.  But luckily we did get gender.  :)

For now, I'll share a picture of the foot.

All is good with the babe and due date is the same, June 1st. Oh and yes, already have a name picked out.  I wanted to keep it a secret but it's hard to keep saying "the baby" instead of a name.  So, once we reveal the gender, we'll reveal the name too!

Zoe is good...Crazy but good.  And growing up fast!

Bye for now but promise, more details to come soon!
