Week 37!!

Your baby is now considered full term, even though your due date is still three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. He weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long.

Week 36 Dr's appointment

So now that we're into the 9th month of this pregnancy, I get to see my doctor every week!

I went in this morning and had a pretty good visit.  My blood pressure was a little high but nothing too dangerous.  I haven't had headaches, excessive swelling, or seeing spots so doctor thinks it's okay.  I did gain a few pounds (which I shouldn't be at this point!) so that was kind of depressing but it could have been worse.  I got tested for group B strep and will find out the results next week.

At my last appointment the doctor was on the fence about doing another ultrasound.  He said he'd decide today after measuring my belly.  After measuring it he decided to get an ultrasound.  So on Monday morning I'll be having my 3rd (and hopefully final) ultrasound to check her growth.  I won't see the doctor that day..My next appointment with him will be on Friday the 26th.  Obviously if something happens before that I can see him sooner.

So I suppose it's countdown time...I'm pretty anxious and excited!  How about you?!?!

Week 36!

Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Wednesday's doctor's appointment!

Yesterday I had yet another doctor's appointment..(Now they'll be every week).

Nothing special happened..Just another check up.  He of course listened to the heartbeat which sounded kind of funny because she's laying right on or by some of my big blood vessels so it kinda sounded like 2 heartbeats but doctor assured me there's just one baby in there!

At my last doctor's appointment I had gained an ABSURD amount of weight so I was kind of nervous about my weigh in yesterday...You have no idea how relieved I was when the nurse told me I only gained two tenths of a pound!  YAY!

Originally my doctor had told me he wanted to do another ultrasound at 36 weeks to again check her growth.  But yesterday he said he was on the fence about it because she was in the 63rd percentile for size which he said is "pretty good".  So, he's going to measure my belly next time (on the 19th) and decide then what to do.

The nurse was doing all my vitals yesterday and she goes "Wow.  Hasn't this pregnancy just gone by so fast for you!"  and I said "OH YEAH!"  It seriously seems like just yesterday we were at our 1st doctor's appointment, doing that 1st ultrasound, seeing this tiny little blob with a beating heart.  Amazing.  And now, in the 26 weeks since that ultrasound, she looks like a real baby-totally not a blob!

As excited as I am to meet this amazing little person, I think I am going to miss being pregnant.  It's taken me this long to get used to it and now she's gonna be born soon!  Honestly, I know I've probably done a lot of complaining, but it really hasn't been that horrible...Especially when I hear stories from other women.  Yes, the beginning was a little rough...I thought I'd never stop feeling sick!  But amazingly enough, I did stop feeling (and getting) sick!

It's been amazing feeling her move and kick lately.  She's so incredibly active and you can kind of see her personality come out when she does move...Like certain things trigger her to start jumping around and that always makes me laugh.

On the other hand, it will be nice to shop for regular clothes again!  Although buying maternity clothes was much easier.  I do plan on hitting the gym ASAP!  And I think not being pregnant will make doing my job a lot easier.  So, those things I am looking forward to.

Everyday I wake up thinking, when will she be here!  How will it start..When will it start.  And while childbirth absolutely scares me, I am pretty excited for the end result.  With only 5 weeks left, I think it's definitely countdown time!

Week 35!!

I think I accidentally skipped week 34..Oops!  But here's the latest on Zoe's development!

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Zoe's Room: Updated!!

Since my last post about Zoe's room, we've gotten a few more things...A few more BIG things!

I'm a huge craigslist junkie and have been on the site EVERY DAY looking for good deals!  And one night, when I couldn't sleep I found one!!

A lady was selling a crib, changing table, and rocker for $100!  They were white and in pretty good condition..So I e-mailed her, she responded the next morning, Tony went and picked them up that afternoon!  It's like they were meant for us!  She also threw in a mattress for the crib and a pad for the changing table.  She also decorated her nursery in pink and brown so she had a whole bunch of stuff to match!  SO EXCITED!  (And pretty relieved!)

Here are some pictures!

Zoe's Room!

Tony and I have been working on getting Zoe's room organized and all set to go since we're down to 6 weeks!  (If she doesn't decide to come early!!)

I opted not to buy a dresser (she has a TON of closet space) but instead bought a bookshelf and some cute pink baskets to put onesies, pants, socks, shoes, hats, etc in.  (The rest of her clothes I'm hanging up..).  We bought another matching bookshelf for her books, dolls, and misc toys.  We also got this really cute cubby thing (with the idea of putting the pink baskets in that, but they didn't fit!) that holds blankets and sheets nicely...(I have a feeling I'll need more storage for blankets etc but no biggie!).

Since we're in an apartment we can't paint the walls, so we found these polka dot decals we put up that can easily come off when it's time to move.

I'm still missing some essential pieces of furniture..Like a crib!  But, I don't plan on having her in a crib for a little while anyway, so I'm not that worried about it.

Anyway, here are some pictures to give you an idea of what we've done...

Her crib is going to go somewhere along that back wall...Oh and Tony gets all the credit for the placement of the dots..He was much more creative then me!
