Zoe Fun Facts!

1) When Zoe gets mad that she can't get through the baby gate into the kitchen she'll throw her binky through the gate and into the kitchen.

2) She is starting to wave.  She's just opening and closing her fist right now and it's usually backwards but she's getting there.

3) Nothing is Zoe proof.  She can get into just about anything and everything.  We try blocking things off and she still manages to get by.

She really put up a good fight this day ... But I just put on some Chris Tomlin and she fell right to sleep!  Holding onto her toy for dear life though.







Zoe really enjoys the Jumperoo her Grams got her ... But she plays with it most when she's standing.  She doesn't like to sit for very long.

Food!

We continue to have food adventures with Zoe!  So much fun!

We still haven't made a lot of progress on the fruit eating.  I've been hesitant to feed her "real" food, not just baby food but we're trying it!  Today we bought some bananas so I'm going to try cutting up and smashing some pieces and see if she'll eat it.  We also picked up some baby finger foods that we tried tonight and she seemed to enjoy them.  She was a little unsure at first-made some funny faces but ultimately ate every thing we gave her.

She's been eating just veggies for lunch and the meat/veggie combos for dinner.  And lately she's been eating the whole jar.  Yay!

I also picked up some sippy cups.  I'm holding off on giving her juice until I can really get her to drink water.  Her pediatrician warned once you give them juice it's hard to get them to drink water.  So I'm really going to try and "sell" her on the water!

The Sweet Life!

Wow!  What a weekend!

So now that we're on one income, we have really restricted our activities and spending.  But that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun!

Zoe and I have been cooped up in the house during the week so I didn't care what we did this weekend as long as we got out of the house!

We had a cheap lunch out, went to a thrift store and found a cookbook for Tony, and then went to a local pastry shop called "Sweet Life Patisserie".  All I can say is it is heaven.  They have a little bit of everything and it's all made from scratch.  They also have vegan items as well.

Well, we all know I have a sweet tooth so I kind of agonized about what to choose.  (Although we knew we were going to share cause everything was so rich and big!).  And then I saw it.

Pecan and Carmel Pumpkin Cheesecake Tartlet.

Yum.

And to go with it a nice hot mocha.





And before we knew it, it was gone.



But in between eating the sweet stuff, I got to kiss some sweet cheeks!





After we got our sugar high, we decided to go home.

And then the sugar really hit as well as the coffee and this momma was suddenly very hyper.  (I normally don't drink coffee much less a 16 oz mocha so the coffee definitely had an affect on me!)

I suggested we hit the park.  Amazingly enough we haven't taken Zoe to the park.  She was too small and then it was summer and too hot and then it was yesterday.  :)

We put her in the swing and she loved it.  But about 15 minutes later she was over it.  Which is about average for keeping her entertained in something that involves her sitting down.

Such a funny baby!

Zoe has quite the personality in case you didn't know!

The funny thing is that Zoe HATES fruit.  Everyone told us to start veggies first so she didn't get hooked on the sweet stuff and not eat her veggies.  But the opposite happened.  She loves her veggies and won't eat her fruit!

I've tried all the fruits.  I've tried mixing it with the oatmeal.  I've tried it cold, room temperature, warm.  I've tried the mixed fruits.  All of it!  And every time I put it in her mouth she makes this awful face like I've fed her poison. 

BUT today I made progress.  I got her to eat 1/2 a jar of the apple, banana, yogurt!  She wasn't as enthusiastic about it but she ate it.  What's funny is that the other day Tony picked out spinach and potatoes which I thought she'd hate cause it sounded awful to me, but she ate it up!  She not only did she eat the whole jar but she scarfed it down like there was no tomorrow. 

Oh and I snapped this shot early this morning.  When I uploaded it to Facebook I noticed you could see her tooth!

First Tooth!

I think I forgot to mention that Zoe has her first tooth!  I try to take pictures of it but she just sticks her tongue out at me and you can't see it!

It's on the bottom in the front and VERY SHARP! 

I'll keep trying to snap a picture of it!  It's so cute and small!  :)
