3-5 Weeks

It suddenly occurred to me that this baby could really arrive anytime in the next 3-5 weeks.  That freaks me out.

My friend just had her baby 2 weeks early!  So then I couldn't sleep for like 2 nights thinking that if I were to go into labor anytime soon I would so not be ready.  Bags aren't packed (for me or Zoe) and I still need a few things for Noah.  I feel very unprepared compared to last time! But I also feel like I could just pop at any moment!  Haha!

I went to a car seat clinic on Thursday....BEST THING EVER!  It's done by certified policemen and not only did I learn a lot, but they got BOTH the car seats in there so tight, I'm pretty confident my kids won't be going anywhere!  We were having a hard time getting the base of the new car seat to sit properly but these guys had NO problems getting it setup PROPERLY!  It's free and it's amazing.  I was there about an hour (on the website it says each car seat inspection takes about 30 minutes) but it was so worth the time.  Zoe wasn't too happy about some guy messing with her car seat, but she did fine a majority of the time.  Whenever I have to change cars, I'll go back just to make sure they get installed correctly!

oops

I was having issues with my "smart" phone and so I tried cleaning it up...I'm not sure what I did, but ultimately I had to reset the whole thing.  After I "cleaned" it, I messed the whole phone up.  Lost ALL my ringtones (even the ones that came on the phone), all my pictures (SO SAD) and my apps were super messed up.  So, I had to reset the whole thing back to it's original state and start all over.  So annoying!

So, the pictures I wanted to post, are gone.  Sorry!  Believe me, I was super upset.  Next time, I will back them up!

Oh but here are some that Tony had on his phone, that he backed up!

Easter-She refused to take a decent picture!

First picnic lunch of Spring!

Going down the slide solo!

Sweetness.

Vacuum means bury head in bed and hide!

Just making sure her nose is still there!

Another appointment done!

The weeks are FLYING by!  I had another appointment with my midwife on Friday.  I'll have another one in 2 weeks and then I'll start going EVERY week!!  That's how you know it's getting close!

I have to admit...I'm slightly regretting my decision to go with the midwives.  There are 6 midwives and you don't get to see just one.  You see all of them, because any one of them could be on call when you go into labor so they want you to get "familiar" with each one of.  Well, I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I just met a new one on Friday!  And her opinion was very different then the one I saw at my previous appointment about the possibility of a C-Section.  And she didn't really listen to me.  So ultimately, she referred me back to the OB/GYN that delivered Zoe, to discuss the C-Section because I told her, if I HAD to have one, I wanted him to be the doctor to do it.  I didn't want some random doctor doing the C-Section.  I'm uncomfortable having one in the first place, so I at least want someone I trust and know to do it.  I'm meeting with him on the 15th of May.  He won't necessarily be my doctor from this point forward...I'll find out more at my appointment.

I've gained 17 pounds.  I was hoping to only gain 20 but with 6 more weeks to go, I think I'll be more at 25 pounds.  Still not awful I suppose.

My blood pressure was a little high...At least compared to what it's been.  We'll be keeping an eye on that as well, considering my history.  And since this is the final stretch, having high blood pressure could very well happen.

We're almost completely ready for Noah's arrival...Of course we still need some basics.  He could still use some more clothes and I somehow, have NO PJ's for the poor baby!!  Those aren't hard to get.  We also need some blankets, but I did find an amazing deal on some bedding.  I've found this resale store that I like and they had a BRAND NEW set, for $29.99 plus I had $17 in store credit.  It was a smoking deal!  And I love it!!  (A lot more then the stuff we had put on the registry!).  I'll have to take a picture of it when we get the crib setup.  We also need a crib mattress.

There are other things we need, but that can wait.  He won't be needing a lot the first few months so I'm not too worried about it.  Right now, I'm only worried about the essentials.

Well, I suppose that's it for now!  I've got some pictures of Zoe on my phone I need to get on the computer so I can post them on here.  We've had some nice weather for the last few days (the rain and cold temps are back for the rest of the week) so we had a picnic lunch and a couple days at the park.  FUN!  (Luckily Tony was off because my ability to chase Zoe around a park is pretty much non-existent).  Oh quick funny story...I did attempt to take Zoe to the a small park on Sunday...The playground portion of it (that is her size) is all sand.  Her little feet hit the sand (with her sandals still on) and she FLIPPED OUT!  She yelled "DIRTY MOMMA DIRTY!" at me.  I tried taking her sandals off but that just made it worse.  So, we were there all of 3 minutes and came home.

sort of on bed rest

I'm not on bed rest technically, but I am being very careful.  About a week ago, I somehow tore a ligament/muscle in my left hip.  I was in so much pain I couldn't walk around my house, I was crawling on the floor, I was sweating, and I couldn't even breath.  My midwife assured me it was "normal" hip/joint/ligament pain.  Well, a few days later it was worse and instead of being on and off pain, it was constant.  So, I went to the ER with the decision being I actually TORE something.  Fun.

So, hubby took a couple days off so I could recuperate because I wasn't supposed to do any heavy lifting (like a two year old), standing for long periods of time, etc.  I'm being extremely careful so I don't irritate it again.  I picked up the living room today and vacuumed....I was in pain afterward.  Annoying.

To make things better, we've been invaded by ants.  Stupid, stupid, ants.  As soon as you kill them from one area they invade another.  I can't stand it.  And we have a mold issue.  Which is why we're all constantly getting sick.  AHHHHHHH!!

Anyway, I haven't been on an actual computer in a while...If it were for my phone, I would have no idea what's going on!

Oh and here are some pictures.

Zoe absolutely loved coloring Easter eggs.  You could not stop her from dropping eggs into the dye.  As soon as Tony took one out, she plopped another one in.  She had a blast.....Until we had to take them away.  Slight meltdown.

A couple weeks ago we had a super nice, sunny, warm, day.  Zoe spent most of it outside.  When it was getting dark and cold outside we had a hard time getting her back indoors.  Can't blame the girl...We haven't been able to spend too much time outside.  In fact, it's pretty much rained everyday since.

They finally have Instagram for Android!  WOO HOO!!  Here's my first Instagram picture.

She likes to hide between pillows now which is funny...So when I saw her little feet poking out, I had to take a picture.  I love her little feet.  I painted her toes the other night and she goes "Oh pretty!" and then a few minutes later, she says to me (in the sweetest little voice) "Thank you Momma!".  Melt my heart.

Oh and you will be happy to hear, she is sleeping normally again!  But I had to take away her afternoon nap.  *sigh*.  She does fine without one...Some days she takes a little hour nap, but mostly she doesn't take one in the afternoon.  We have quiet time though, where she lays down with me, but she's definitely not sleeping for 2 hours like she was.  I'm sad to see her afternoon nap go, or be shortened, because it was my time to get things done or take a nap myself, but I would rather have no nap, then the screaming at bedtime, going to bed at 1 AM, and waking up at weird early morning hours.  It's a small price to pay.  And she seems to do fine without it, so for now, it's what we're doing.

I'm 33 weeks pregnant...We still need to get a few more clothes, diapers, bottles, and blankets, but we're almost ready for Noah's arrival.  I have a feeling he'll be early.  Can't wait to meet the little guy.  And hopefully Zoe adjusts relatively well.  Oh and the potty training thing, not going so well.  She's just not ready yet.  Which is fine...I'm not going to push her.  If she were 4, I probably would.  But she's barely 2, so I'm not worried.

Hope you all are doing well!  Sorry I haven't been in touch much....(Unless you're friends with me on Facebook...).  I'm sure things are only going to get more crazy!  :)

Sumo Baby?

Well, today I had my 32 week ultrasound (a couple days early...I won't technically be 32 weeks until Friday).  Noah was much more cooperative this time than last time.  She got all the measurements she needed and she confirmed that he is "definitely" a he.  (Her wording...).  It was a different ultrasound tech this time than last time, so it was like getting a second opinion.  Ha.  But, we definitely saw that he was in fact a boy.  Relief!

The scary part of the ultrasound was when she told me that she "estimates" that he weighs a little over 5 pounds!  According to my research, by the end of the 32nd week, baby should weigh 4 pounds...I'm at the end of my 31st week and she thinks he weighs 5 pounds!  She kept emphasizing that it is just an estimate, but still.  It's a little scary because I still have 8 weeks left til my due date..Plenty of time for him to have a large growth spurt!  I don't need to be birth a 9 pound baby!  HA!  So we'll see what my midwife has to say on Friday.  The rest of the day, Tony and I were joking that he would be our sumo baby.

He was a little shy...He kept his hands and arms in front of his face pretty much the whole time.  We did get some good profile shots and a 3D shot of him with his hands in front of his face.  Pretty sweet.

She also mentioned that he had his feet up by his head at one point too.  No wonder I feel weird kicks and punches!  Flexible little guy.  But as he gets bigger, he won't be able to move around so much.  And maybe I won't get jabbed as much.  :)  I actually don't mind...It's reassuring to know all is well in there.

You might be asking why I'm up at 1:30 AM posting on the blog....It's because Zoe has decided she no longer needs to sleep.  She's been going to bed as late as midnight, (tonight it was more like 1 AM) and getting up at 5, 6, or 7 in the morning.  If I'm lucky, she'll sleep til 8.  But that doesn't happen often.  She does take a good afternoon nap...But bed time, is a nightmare.  Going to bed at midnight, is just not workable situation.  It's AWFUL.  It literally means, I get just a couple hours in the afternoon when she's napping, to myself.  And that's usually the time I take to do household stuff.  So, there's no "me" time.  That sounds selfish, but honestly, who doesn't need a little down time?

I'm going to "revamp" our bedtime routine and see if that helps.  I sure hope so...I only have weeks until Noah's arrival and I just would like to get as much sleep now as I can!

Well, I better go get some sleep...It'll be another long day at the Gist house.  I wake up and start counting down til nap time.  :)
