Latest Doctor's Appointment!

Monday I had another doctor's appointment!  I also got a chance to see Zoe again!

I first had the ultrasound...They said it was going to be a "quick" one, just to check her growth.  I think it was just as long as the first one!  The ultrasound tech took measurements of her head, femur bone, stomach, and a couple other things.  She showed me Zoe's kidneys, heart, and spine.  She was a different tech then the last time and she agreed that Zoe is a girl!  That was comforting!  HA!

When they do the ultrasound they jab that probe thing really hard against my belly and it hurts after a while...Zoe was quiet and calm UNTIL they started doing the ultrasound.  And then she started jumping around and kicking.  The poor tech was trying to get measurements and Zoe kept moving on her!  So between the uncomfortable ultrasound probe thing and Zoe kicking and tumbling, it got quite uncomfortable and I was relieved when everything was over!  I don't think Zoe liked that probe!  We did get a few more new pictures but we don't have a scanner and Tony tried to take pictures of them, but they didn't come out so well.  I did make a few extra copies to send to grandparents and hopefully I can get them on the computer so everyone else can see them!  We got a really good shot of her face...The tech said she has some hair (you can see the fuzz on her head!) and she looks like she has chubby cheeks!  We also got another 3D picture, but Tony has a hard time seeing her face...I think it's quite obvious but that's just me!  :)  Anyway, grandparents look for those in the mail SOON!

After the ultrasound I saw my doctor and he told me she's in the 63rd percentile for size!  Which he says means she's a little bigger then normal, but not like huge.  If she continues to grow at the rate babies normally grow at this stage, she'll be 8 pounds by my due date...So, knowing my luck that means she's be closer to 9! HA!  We're going to do another ultrasound at 36 weeks just to see her one more time and to check her size.  I'm kinda nervous.  If she's close to 9 pounds I foresee a C-Section in my future!

We're not going to discuss my weight gain.  It was bad over the last 2 weeks which I don't understand!  So, I'm being EXTRA EXTRA careful so that at my next appointment I won't faint when I see the number!  :)  But really, my total weight gain isn't that bad...YET!  Hehe.

As of today we hit 33 weeks, which means only 7 more to go (unless she decides to come early!).  I'm freaking out a bit.  I got the registry done at Target..Tony's taking me crib shopping tomorrow and I think I'm having a baby shower towards the end of February with some ladies at Church.   I hate waiting until the last minute to get things done!

Anyway, I'll try to keep the blog updated..I've been lazy the last week or so!  I got sick last week (I think all the excitement of moving, plus work, plus Bubby's surgery etc caught up with me cause I didn't get out of bed for a whole day last week..I just felt awful!)...On the days I work I lay around most of the morning, go to work in the afternoon, come home, eat dinner, and then go to bed!  I'm so bad!

33 Weeks!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Registry is DONE!

I've been wanting to do our baby registry for months now...But we decided to wait until we moved.  So, finally, today, we went to Target and got it done!  Such a relief!

We scanned a lot of stuff!  Mostly clothes and books!  HA!  But really, we had fun and we figured it couldn't hurt to have it on there.  The worse that's gonna happen is no one's gonna buy it!

In case you wanted the info (I hate just telling people we did a registry..I feel like I'm asking people to buy us things and I don't want anyone to feel obligated to purchase something just because I told them about the registry...) we're registered at Target.  You can access the registry online or in stores.  I made it public so you can search by our names or my e-mail address.  If you have any problems just let me know...

I also wanted to post pictures of the swing we got as a gift.  It was given to us by a dear family friend who said her two kids LOVED it so I'm really hoping Zoe loves it too!  It looks really comfy and nice...I think I'd like it!  It's super soft, it has music, and nature sounds, and a really cute mobile.

Here..See for yourself!

I love the natural and simple coloring...We're keeping it downstairs so it's perfect!

Anyway, I'm super relieved to have the baby registry done and also relieved the stroller I picked out wasn't recalled!  (Crazy..1.5 MILLION Graco strollers recalled! YIKES!)

Week 32!!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb.

Week 31!!

All the packing and moving ALMOST made me forget I hit week 31!  So exciting!

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Zoe Loves to Play Games!

Already my daughter is goofy!

Tony has felt Zoe move around..But now it's getting so you can see her move around..Like my belly moves..You can see her kick and rumble around.  So I've been wanting Tony to see her move around.  So ALL weekend I've been trying to get him to see.

She'll start moving and then as soon as I get Tony's attention to look, she stops.  He'll stop and stare at my belly for a few minutes and NOTHING happens!  So, he gives up.  Within a couple seconds of him not looking, she starts tumbling around again...I yell at Tony and she stops.  Seriously..No joke.  It's been like this all weekend!

We were watching LOST tonight and she was going nuts!  Tony didn't really see, but he did get to feel her...I think he got a kick out of it cause he kept laughing.  The doctor told me I wouldn't be able to feel her that much cause of where my placenta is, but I certainly feel her a lot!  It's probably just muffled.  I can't imagine feeling all this "full blast"!

It is really awesome and comforting to feel her move..(Even if it does hurt sometimes!)  It's just really fun.  I thought it would be weird but once I started feeling her, it was just natural.  Not weird at all...And honestly, I love it.  It makes me feel close to her.  I just wish she could avoid my bladder a little more!  Hehe!

Doctor's Appointment!

Yup..Today I had another doctor's appointment!  It was supposed to be on Tuesday but due to some car troubles I had to reschedule so I had it this morning...

My glucose test came back fine..(or so I'm assuming cause the doctor didn't mention anything about it and honestly I forgot to ask!).  Zoe's heartbeat sounded good..It took me a few minutes to hear it..She was really active!!  You could hear her swishing around!  I'm happy she's active but I'm also nervous about what that will mean when she's not confined to my uterus! Haha!

I'm still going to the doctor every 2 weeks until I'm 36 weeks and then I'll start going every week.  Next appointment is on the 25th and I'll have an ultrasound to check her growth..Unfortunately Tony can't make it to my appointment because I couldn't get an afternoon appointment but it'll be a really short ultrasound so they assured me Tony won't miss much!

Stay tuned for posts next week..We're moving Wednesday so I'll post pictures of our new place and we'll also be doing a registry at Target and possibly WalMart next week for Zoe.  I'm getting pretty anxious because there is so much we need to get and not a lot of time!  A family friend gave us a very nice swing and just that one item made me feel so good!  It's one thing I can scratch off my list!

My friend Megan, who I've known since 4th grade, is also very close to having her first baby..A boy!  They're naming him Arlo!  She lives in AZ so I'm kinda bummed we don't live closer so we could have play dates!  I think it's neat that we've known each other all these years and are having our first babies within a couple months of each other..I'm so excited for her!  Last I heard she was pretty close..So I think Baby Arlo might be here SOON, if he's not already!

30 weeks!!

Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)
